Ten 4 Ocean is a campaign for 10-small, nimble, and effective ocean nonprofits fighting to protect our ocean. All life on Earth is connected to the sea. Covering 70% of our blue planet's surface, the ocean provides us with more than half of the oxygen we breathe, regulates global climate and weather, feeds 40% of us terrestrial humans, and produces medicines that keep us alive and healthy. A healthy ocean is also a source of vast emotional wellness benefits that we all need more than ever. The story of the ocean is the story of life.

But the ocean has suffered more than a century of fossil-fueled industrial abuse, as well as centuries of being treated as an infinite larder and bottomless cesspool. Industrial and agricultural pollution, over-fishing, whale entanglements, fisheries by-catch, ocean noise pollution, coastal erosion, wetlands destruction, sea-bed mining, coral bleaching, offshore dumping, and ocean plastics are all up.

The ocean really needs our love right now. But where do we start?

We have selected ten small, but nimble ocean conservation organizations who are covering a lot of bases in improving our relationships with the ocean - and getting a lot of stuff done!

We want to support these groups and their efforts in our "Ten 4 Ocean!" campaign.
